Summer
Day Camps

SAS offers day camp on school vacation weeks and summer vacation.  Day Camp times are 9:00-12:00 Monday through Friday.  We focus on horse care, barn management and discuss topics from tack to immunization shots.  We make our topics fun with hands on projects to be presented on the last day of camp.

Each student will participate in a one hour daily riding lesson.

Therapeutic Riding

This is a great program for any age student with special needs to explore a confidence building program.  These programs are highly individualized and tailored to the student's targeted behaviors and needs.

The therapeutic riding program builds incredible self-esteem in each student.
Riding Lessons

We attract all ages and abilities from a beginner balance seat to getting ready for a competition in dressage and jumping.  We focus on the safety of the horse and rider at all times.  Enjoy your lesson in a standard size indoor arena or the lighted out door arena with our professional staff.

Costs are:

Private one hour $40.00
Semi private one hour $35.00
Lesson Package- 4 group lessons $120.00

All students will have fun with hands on participation in the following topics.  They will learn many aspects of horse health and management.

Topics

*1        Barn chores: stall cleaning, types of feed, parts of the horse, colors, markings, breeds

*2        Health care and emergencies:  parts of the hoof and care, immunizations, deworming, bandaging cuts, use of polo wraps and bell boots, and symptoms of colic.

*3        Tack:  parts of saddles and bridles, how to clean and care for them.

*4        Show grooming techniques:  clipper cuts, bathing, mane pulling, brushes and hair polishing, hands on clipper cutting a horse.

Parents or guardians are welcome to visit anytime.
